The latest Di Pietro Drum! This beauty was handcrafted for customer Jim Burns of Canadaigua. Jim is a fellow Drum-Off judge with me at Guitar Center. He fell in love with tone of the Jet snare below, (I brought it to showcase at the Drum-Off,) and had to have his own. Since Jim’s kit is an Amber Glow finish with Natural Maple hoops, we thought Natural Maple would suit very nicely. The specs are:
- 7" x 14"
- 8 ply Maple
- 45? counter cut bearing edges
- Dunnett R-Class Strainer and Butt
- Diecast Hoops
- Billet Offset Nodal mounted lugs
- Remo heads
- Puresound Snares

This was our first of the newer Di Pietro Drums. It is a 7" x 14" 10 ply maple shell, finished in Jet, with a tung and wax topcoat. Over 12 coats of hand-rubbed finish. The lugs are billet, the hoops are diecast, and the strainer is a Dunnett R-Class. Puresound snares and Remo heads. |

The Blood Red 7" x 14" is the second of the newer models, and has become the signature Di Pietro Drum. This features the same details as the Jet Snare above, with the exception being the color. This drum was sold to Nate in 2007. |

This was the second Di Pietro Drum. The flame job is a hand cut overlay of Jade Green over Gold Pearl. This drum is a 6" x 14", 8 ply birch shell, with billet lugs and a Trick throwoff. The hoops are triple flanged – they just sounded better that was on this drum. However, I really didn't like the flame job, so I covered the drum with White Marine Pearl, and you can see it below. |

The very first Di Pietro Drum. This was really an experiment, as this is actually the second iteration of this particular drum. Originally 8 lug, it had antiqe Radio-King hoops and a black galaxy glitter wrap. Refinished as a 10 lug drum in Tyrian Purple Pearl with diecast hoops and a Nickelworks throwoff. For a 6" x 14", 6 ply birch shell, this drum is very fat and sensitive. Definitely one of my favorite drums, and the reason I began making more. |
